Expom specialises in big steel constructions of lifeboat davits and heavy marine cranes. We own precise CNC machine tools that allow for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining, helpful especially in the production of big steel constructions for big and large power generators. The largest machinery constructed by Polish engineers weighted 52 tons and were divided due to transport size limits.
Our permits related to welding procedures were approved by one of the most rigorous classification societies – DNV-GL (Det Norske Veritas-Germanischer Lloyd).
In order to the assure innovation, reliability, and operational safety of our products we launched a state-of-art technological and construction office offering, for example, 3D modelling services and strength analysis, as well as static dynamic and NDT tests.
Loading tests are static tests performed by marine classification societies (DNV-GL, ABS, BV, RINA, RMRS) in accordance with requirements and procedures of IMO and SOLAS and pursuant to requirements of these societies. Then, our products undergo NDT tests allowing for identification of possible welding and construction defects in tested equipment, its accessories or material while maintaining its operational features. Within the framework of this analysis and depending on construction requirements we perform ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MT), visual (VT), penetration (PT), and x-ray (RT) tests.
Due to static dynamic and NDT tests big steel constructions manufactured in Expom undergo multistage control, which allows for precise elimination of possible defects and prevention of any future failures. Protocols from tests are included in quality documentation that is provided to a Customer together with the finished product.
